Multilingual customer support jobs in Cyprus 2026: salaries and who's hiring
One of Cyprus' biggest entry routes for foreigners — what multilingual support agents earn by language, which industries hire them, the shift patterns, and how to break in with no local experience.

If you speak a second European or Middle Eastern language and want a way into the Cyprus job market without local experience, multilingual customer support is the most accessible route on the island. Limassol's forex, gaming and payments firms hire support agents in dozens of languages, year-round, and the language itself is the qualification.
Ranges below are gross monthly EUR for full-time customer support roles in Cyprus, drawn from active and recently-closed listings on Cyprus Job Finder. Figures reflect the 25th–75th percentile and exclude shift allowances and performance bonuses.
Salary ranges by language
| Language | Junior | Experienced |
|---|---|---|
| English only | €1,300 – €1,600 | €1,700 – €2,200 |
| German / Dutch / Nordic | €1,800 – €2,300 | €2,400 – €3,200 |
| French / Italian / Spanish | €1,500 – €1,900 | €2,000 – €2,700 |
| Arabic | €1,700 – €2,200 | €2,400 – €3,200 |
| Polish / Czech / Romanian | €1,400 – €1,800 | €1,900 – €2,500 |
| Mandarin / Japanese / Korean | €1,900 – €2,400 | €2,600 – €3,500 |
Night shifts, weekend rotations and VIP desks add allowances on top, and many roles carry a performance bonus. The scarcer the language locally, the higher the premium.
Which industries hire support agents
- Forex & CFD brokers (Limassol). The biggest single employer of multilingual support, covering client onboarding, KYC, account queries and retention.
- iGaming & betting. 24/7 player-support desks across many languages.
- Payments & fintech. Growing demand for support in compliance-adjacent roles.
- Tech & SaaS. Customer success and technical support for international products.
- E-commerce & travel. Smaller but steady demand for European-language agents.
What the job is really like
Most support desks run shifts, and many operate 24/7 — expect rotating mornings, evenings and some weekends, especially in forex and gaming. Work is a mix of live chat, email and phone. The pace can be high during market hours or big sporting events. It is screen-based, target-aware work (response times, satisfaction scores), but it is also one of the few roles where being a native speaker of the right language matters more than your CV.
The languages in highest demand
German and the Nordic languages command the strongest premiums because supply is short locally. Arabic is consistently in demand across forex. Mandarin, Japanese and Korean are scarce and well paid. French, Italian and Spanish are reliably needed in volume. English-only roles exist but sit at the bottom of the pay range — pairing English with a second in-demand language is what lifts your number.
How to break in with no experience
This is genuinely an entry-level route. To get hired:
- Lead with your language. State your real CEFR level (C1, native) prominently — it is the product.
- Expect a language test. Most employers run a written assessment and a spoken roleplay in your target language. Do not overstate your level.
- Highlight any service experience. Hospitality, retail or call-centre work transfers directly.
- Be clear on shift flexibility. Willingness to do evenings, nights or weekends widens your options and your pay.
- Sort your right to work. EU citizens need only a Yellow Slip; third-country nationals need employer sponsorship, which larger firms handle routinely.
Career progression
Support is a doorway, not a dead end. Common paths: senior agent, then team leader or shift supervisor, then quality assurance, training, or VIP/account management. From forex support, many move into retention, onboarding or compliance — roles that pay considerably more. Treat the first year as paid market knowledge and a foot in the door of a fast-moving industry.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How much do customer support agents earn in Cyprus?
It depends heavily on language. English-only support starts around €1,300–€1,600 gross per month, while in-demand languages pay more: German, Nordic and East Asian languages reach €2,400–€3,500 for experienced agents, and Arabic €2,400–€3,200. Night shifts, weekend rotations and performance bonuses add to these figures.
Which languages pay the most in Cyprus customer support?
German and the Nordic languages (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish) command the highest premiums because local supply is short, followed by Mandarin, Japanese and Korean. Arabic is consistently well paid across forex. French, Italian and Spanish are needed in volume. English-only roles sit at the bottom of the pay range.
Can I get a customer support job in Cyprus with no experience?
Yes — it is one of the few genuinely entry-level routes for foreigners. Employers hire primarily on language ability, so a strong second language matters more than your CV. Expect a written and spoken language test, highlight any hospitality or retail service experience, and be flexible on shifts to widen your options.
Who hires multilingual support agents in Cyprus?
Limassol's forex and CFD brokers are the largest employers, followed by iGaming and betting companies running 24/7 player-support desks, plus payments, fintech, tech/SaaS, e-commerce and travel firms. Most are concentrated in Limassol, with some in Nicosia.
Are customer support jobs in Cyprus shift work?
Often, yes. Many support desks — especially in forex and iGaming — operate 24/7, so expect rotating morning, evening and weekend shifts. Night and weekend shifts usually carry allowances on top of base pay. Day-only roles exist but are more common in tech and e-commerce support.
Do I need to speak Greek for customer support jobs in Cyprus?
No. These roles serve international customers, so the working language is English plus whatever language you are hired for. Greek is not required for the vast majority of multilingual support positions in Cyprus. What matters is a strong, verifiable level in your target language.
